Ultra Custom Luxury Signature Residence
In the heart of Dharmawangsa, Jakarta's most storied residential district, Designs by Human partnered with Swire Properties and PT Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional to create the Signature Residence at Savyavasa, a fully realized luxury show residence in Tower 2 of the development. As both designer and builder, our studio funded and executed the complete interior buildout, delivering a turnkey three bedroom residence from concept to final styling.
Every piece of furniture in the residence was designed by Designs by Human and built in partnership with our local Indonesian workshops and vendors. Nothing was ordered from a catalog. Each table, chair, bed, and cabinet was drawn, prototyped, and fabricated specifically for this home, making the residence fully custom in the truest sense of the word.
The centerpiece is a hand carved teak feature wall, designed by Designs by Human and brought to life by our own craftspeople. Carved from solid teak, the wall is a study in what separates true luxury from the appearance of it: hundreds of hours of handwork, executed by artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations. It anchors the residence the way a great piece of art anchors a room, and it could not have been produced anywhere else, by anyone else.
In the dining area, we partnered with Indonesian fashion designer Linda Mulia to reimagine the kimono as a sculptural art piece, a collaboration that bridges fashion, craft, and interior design in a single gesture.
The collected, layered quality of the residence comes from how far we reached to assemble it. Original artwork from artists in Bali, Sumatra, Timor, and New York City. Locally sourced Indonesian fabrics, including hand selected Timor and Sumatran textiles. Finishing details brought from France and the United States. A commissioned artwork series celebrating Indonesian culinary heritage. Every room, from the foyer to the hobby room, styled down to the last book on the shelf. This is luxury interior design in Jakarta built on a simple conviction: luxury lives in the details.
The market agreed. The residence sold almost immediately after its reveal, proof of concept that when design, craftsmanship, and execution meet at the highest level, buyers respond.
