I learned as I was developing my career that details were often overlooked or cut out to save money. Let us learn to create ways to incorporate details into any project at any budget. This is the challenge we take to heart.
Our values stem from the classic golden rule, “Treat others how you wish to be treated”. Our clients are our creative outlets. It is our job to take their vision and bring it to real life. We take our client’s opening ideas and interject our own creativity to make spaces that are truly and comfortably theirs while showcasing something they would not have been able to create themselves.
DBH is built on relationships in all facets; clients, vendors, contractors, friends, family, and even that guy in the elevator. No project is too small. As we know, from experience, a small project often plants a seed that eventually becomes more magnificent than ever imagined.

Designs By Human., Inc (aka DBH) was created to bring the specialized design to everyday life. Our team has professional design and construction experience in both urban and rural environments, both near and far from our (new) Florida home base. Designs By Human can tailor each project to our client's specific needs. We enjoy the fact that no two projects are ever the same and love the challenge of creating custom and unique details. We work closely with our consultants and vendors to make sure each project will become a beautiful space for our clients.
Our work and experience have been featured in several print and online publications including “Elle Decor”, “House Beautiful”, “HGTV” and “This Old House Magazine”. We take pride in the level of detail and craft incorporated into all our projects. Our portfolio is always growing, and we are determined to change our client’s quality of life through beautiful design.
About Joe:
Joe human
Founder and Principal Designer - New York City | Florida| Idaho
Born and raised in rural Idaho, he officially launched Designs By Human, Inc. in 2015 in New York City and is now in Florida to bring his fun, playful use of pattern and neutrals into the design world. Joe grew up looking up to his father as a builder and creator of simple but sophisticated abstract art pieces which led him to learn to develop his own creativity. He would take that knowledge and love of creating things home as a child and extrapolate them with Lego’s and now in the real world. Joe Human is more notable for his attention to detail and mixture of interior design elements merging with architectural elements, which began the slogan #detailsmatter.
Design inspiration can be found in everything which is why Joe loves to be out in the mountains on his bike or in the pits of his secret obsession with nitro-fueled drag racing.
