UPPER WEST SIDE RESIDENCE, NYC
Playful Sophistication for a Pre-War Home
For this Upper West Side pre-war residence, our clients came to us with a clear vision: a home that felt both fun and sophisticated, layered with personality yet grounded in timeless New York charm. We embraced that duality and crafted a space that celebrates color, texture, and refined architectural details—all while honoring the historic character of the building.
Throughout the home, we reintroduced subtle Art Deco cues, a nod to the era of the building and the neighborhood’s iconic architectural language. Custom millwork and renewed moldings elevate the envelope of each room, creating a backdrop that feels both current and contextually rich. From there, we layered in playful accent colors, sculptural lighting, and tactile textiles that add depth without overwhelming the architecture.
