Simple Ideas to Update the Current Space you Live In.

With the majority of everyone hunkered down inside, it is now more than ever, important to make your house or apartment feel like a home and enjoyable environment.

Flowers and Plants:

One of the easiest ways to add design interest into your home is with flowers or live plants. I personally like flowers as they add color and a more architectural element to the space. You can place them in smaller arrangements throughout your home with out looking like a greenhouse.

The downside is obvious: that you have to change them out frequently. I tend to lean towards flowers that dry in place well, such as lavender or statice, then you can have fewer change outs through the season. With these types of flowers you can dry generally place them within a vase with no water and they will gracefully dry without much drooping. Some types you may have to bundle and hang upside down, it can depend on your geographic location so its best to experiment with one or two at a time and see what works for you.

I love using plants in our designs as they not only enhance the space but it brings in a live element into your home which creates a more comfortable environment.

Books:

After your done binge watching all that is available on Netflix and Hulu you will need to be another entertainment outlet to turn to. Books, hardcover to be specific, are not only great way to pass time, but a good way to enhance the design of your home. Most new books come with a dust cover, once removed, the book generally becomes much more appealing as a decorative item. Experiment with stacking them in different direction and heights. Books will also help break up large hard surfaces, say for instance a large marble coffee table or large wood credenza.

Wallpaper:

You may now have the time to learn how to professionally wallpaper a space, but maybe start with one wall that is used as a focal point, perhaps behind a bed or sofa. Wallpapering an entire room though, is a great way to bring a boring room together. There are so many great options today for wallpaper in all price points and styles.
