2016 was a year of bold choices and hyperactivity – especially the end of last month.  We think this choice of green is on par with a more soothing and calming demeanor in response to this.

The Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, stated Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the re-connection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose”.

Tones of blue and green have always been popular in home design. Clients in the past have incorporated pevious colors of the year within their decor as a way to add accents to their homes. It could be such a subtle accent as the pattern of a pillow, to a side chair or even an accent wall. It is also an easy way to change small items out on an annual basis.

Here are some cool ways you can incorporate Greenery in your interiors for 2017!

You can incorporate Greenery in a subtle way by using accent pillows. We like this example from Hi Sugarplum.

We always encourage boldness in design! You could paint your entire space like this entryway featured on House Beautiful. The white trim and black floor and doors help to tone it down. We love the glossy paint choice as well!

Trendy decor doesn’t have to stop at interiors! Bring some color to your exterior by painting your front door. We really like this glossy green door, featured on Tiny White Daisies.

Past Pantone colors of the year such as Rose Quartz (2016), Serenity (2016) & Marsala (2015), were popular in the cosmetic, fashion and interior design world. We anticipate the same for Greenery and are excited to see how we can use the fresh shade in 2017!
